Congratulations to all New Zealanders and Sikhs all over the world on the auspicious occasion of 400th year celebration of Ad Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and 305th annual clebration of birth of Khalsa Panth.
The New Zealand Sikh Society was established in 1964. The first Sikh Temple was built in Hamilton in 1977. As the Punjabi Community grew, a branch of the NZ Sikh Society was established in Auckland and another Sikh Temple was built at Otahuhu Auckland in 1986.
Since then the Sikh population has grown remarkably and a number of Sikh Societies has been established all over New Zealand. Now there are many Sikh temples in New Zealand a list of these can be found in our site. We appreciate the support given by Sikh Sangat Hamilton, Hamilton sikh Society Committee Members and sponsers to set up this website for the benefit and promotion of Sikh and Punjabi Culture in New Zealand.
